Admissions consultation
As outlined previously, the first public meeting relating to our current Admissions Consultation will take place on Thursday 22nd October at 6pm. The meeting will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams and the link can be accessed via the website: https://www.ormistonsixvillagesacademy.co.uk/admissions-consultation

Year 8 and 9 Information Evenings
Firstly, I would like to thank Year 11 parents for their positive feedback on the recent Year 11 information evening. The Year 9 information evening will take place on Thursday 5th November and the Year 8 information will take place the following week on Thursday 12th November. Both meetings will be held virtually using Microsoft Teams and the links will be available on the website. I would strongly urge parents to join their respective year group’s meeting as a lot of important information will be shared.

Covid 19
We will all be aware of the new three tiered system and tighter coronavirus restrictions which have been highly publicised in the media this week, as well as the emphasis on rising infection rates and the quarantine measures in place for travellers returning in the UK from many countries. With half term fast approaching, I would urge parents who may be planning a trip overseas during the half term break to consider the impact of two week’s absence due
to quarantining on a child’s education, should the country of choice not be on the safe travel list.

We are fortunate that we are not moving to a higher tier as many parts of the country are currently, but I believe it is important not to become complacent. The safety and well-being of students and staff remains a priority. In school we continue to practice the hygiene measures that have been recommended, to maintain the bubble arrangements by year group, to wear masks on the buses (as required by law), on entry and exit to and from site and while purchasing food from the canteen. I would encourage all parents and carers also to encourage their children to practise the rule of six outside of school also.
